Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Weapons and Loadouts: A Safe Starting Method

How to evaluate fire modes, Augments and Weapon Traits in Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 without copying an unverified best-build list.

Updated: 2026-08-26 · By Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Field Guide

The official weapon baseline

The publisher highlights fire modes, Augments and unique Weapon Traits as the deeper customization layer. That is enough to plan a testing method, but not enough to declare one weapon best for every Marine or difficulty.

Build one question at a time

Fire mode

Ask whether the mode helps with the range and tempo your role actually faces. Keep the rest of the loadout stable while testing it.

Augments

Treat an Augment as a trade: what does it improve, and what does the squad give up? Record the mission context so a good result is not mistaken for a universal rule.

Weapon Trait

Use the Trait to support the job chosen on the class page. A damage number without a role or target context is not a useful recommendation.

The first three loadout notes

  1. What target type caused the most lost time?
  2. Which weapon change made the next decision easier?
  3. Did the build help the whole squad, or only the player holding it?

Evidence note — 2026-08-26: Fire modes, Augments and Weapon Traits are confirmed on the official page. Exact stats, unlocks and tier rankings need current-build evidence and are intentionally not filled in here.
