Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Classes: How to Choose Your Role

A careful class guide for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2: compare the five unique classes, the Specialist endgame path and the role your squad actually needs.

Updated: 2026-08-26 · By Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 Field Guide

What is confirmed

The official page describes five unique classes with major upgrades, plus a new Specialist endgame class for fully custom Marines. It does not publish a universal tier list, so “best class” depends on the job your fireteam is missing.

Choose by the problem

  • Need room control? Look for the role whose tools create time or space for the other Marines.
  • Need sustained damage? Prioritise a role that can keep pressure on a target without consuming every emergency tool.
  • Need support? Choose the class that keeps the squad stable when the fight lasts longer than expected.
  • Need a flexible endgame path? The Specialist is described as a custom Marine option; treat it as a later buildcrafting destination, not a first-hour requirement.

A three-question class check

  1. What killed the squad last run: a rush, a heavy target or a bad retreat?
  2. Which teammate is already covering that problem?
  3. Can the proposed class solve the gap without duplicating the whole team?

Avoid false certainty

Class names, exact abilities, tier labels and balance rankings should be checked against the current game build. This guide gives a decision method because the official feature page confirms the class structure, not a permanent ranking.

Evidence note — 2026-08-26: Five classes plus Specialist is an official feature claim. The role questions above are editorial guidance and should be updated when current-build data is available.
